Enrolment FAQs

When do I need to complete my enrolment by?

It’s best to enrol in each course as soon as possible so that you can complete your timetable. The earlier you enrol, the more flexibility you will have to choose your lectures, tutorials, workshops, etc. However, you should enrol before teaching commences, so that you don’t miss out on any content, noting that you will be unable to enrol if you don’t do so within a few days of when your class starts.

Where can I find out about my program?

It’s important that you familiarise yourself with the structure of your program, and the courses that you need to complete to be eligible to graduate upon completion.

The details of your program can be found in the Program Regulations, with brief descriptions of each course being available under the relevant School. Further information regarding each course you enrol in will also be made available on Blackboard.

It’s up to you to make sure that you enrol in the correct courses, but your School will also help you as much as possible. Please contact them should you have any questions.

What should I do after I have enrolled?

Orientation Week is the perfect way to get the best possible start at Notre Dame and also a great opportunity to meet other students.

From the 14 - 18 February we are hosting a variety of welcomes, information sessions, and fun activities to welcome you to Notre Dame.

We can't wait to see you at Orientation! We'll be sending through more information soon so please keep an eye on your student emails and ND social media for further information in the coming weeks.

Student Information

Notre Dame Student Centre

There is more to the Student Centre than simply enrolling in classes. It is also where you can view your personal information, current enrolment and academic history, including your grades. Further information is available on the Student Centre page.

Travel Concessions

Many tertiary students are eligible to receive travel concession on public transport. Eligible students can apply for a Tertiary SmartRider (Broome / Fremantle) or Concession Opal Card (Sydney).

Campus Maps

You can find maps of our campuses here:

Fremantle

Sydney – Broadway site

Sydney – Darlinghurst site

These maps contain each venue name (e.g. Pioneer House) and number (e.g. NDS5) and can assist you to navigate around campus once you’ve completed your timetable

Notre Dame Email Account

Your University email account (accessible here) is one of the primary ways we will communicate with you. As a student, you are required to check your email weekly, and going forward, all emails to / from the University must be via your Notre Dame email account..

Your email account is in the format: ID@my.nd.edu.au (e.g. 32000000@my.nd.edu.au), and you access it using the same credentials as Student Centre.

Key Dates and Calendars

So that you can plan your life and studies, you should familiarise yourself with the University Calendar, as well as timetables and other key dates for your campus. View the 2022 University Calendar. For further information visit Calendars and timetables.

Tuition Fees

Most students are required to pay tuition fees for their studies. Further information is available on the Fees page.

Student ID Cards

All students should obtain a Notre Dame ID card. Your Student ID also allows you to borrow resources from the library and pay for printing on campus. As the card identifies you as a university student, you can use it to access student discounts, public transport concession, and it’s the preferred form of identification for exams.  The Student Admin team on your campus can create your ID card next time you’re on campus.

Advanced Standing

If you’ve undertaken prior tertiary study, or relevant prior work experience, you may be eligible for Advanced Standing (also referred to as recognition of prior learning, or RPL). This provides credit towards your program, and can save you time and money. Further information is available on the Advanced Standing page and you should also contact your School to discuss.
